Valamburi John'a speech at Sigarangal

This was a very auspicious speech rendered by Mr.Valamburi John.
He was one of my very favourite aurators. This might be his last speech.
This makes this speech more special. One of his most special program
was "Padithadhil Pidithadhu" which was aired on Vijay tv(which had horse
as logo). The co-host was Bharathi Bhaskar. In that program, they both
discussed about the news from all the magazines. All means ...it includes
all the international magazines like Time, Economic Times etc.. It was a
very different, informative show as that was a new of a kind at that time.
I very much miss that show even now.

This Sigarangal show was conducted in Malaysia.I've already posted the
speech of Sugi.Sivam on the same show already.

So...Enjoy this speech too...

Garbarakshambigai song

Garbarakshambigai is a goddess w.orshipped child birth. The temple is in Thanjavur district.
I've been to that that temple only once. That was very beautiful. This song which is on the goddess is sung by the famous singer Sudha Raghunadhan. Very peaceful devotional song.
Not only pregnant women, but everyone can enjoy the voice and the song. I like to hear it always.

Bharathi film song

This song is from the Tamil film "Bharathi".
All the song that took place in that film were written by Mahakavi Bharathiyar
except for this one. This one "Edhilum ingu iruppan avan yaaro.." was
written by Kavignar Pulamai Piththan. But it sank with the film very easily.
This one was picturized like Bharathi (Shayaji Shinde) himself was singing the song.
It matched very perfectly.

Types of humans in this world-Thenkachi Ko. Swaminathan

We all see many people in our day-to-day life. Some make us admire on them,
some make us friendly, some give us negative feeling too.. but all these people
make our day spend a day with a variety of feelings. With our own estimation,
everyone of us has a list about howmany types of men are in this world....No
one's list matches the other. That depends upon each other's experiences with
the world.

Now,Here is the list given by our favourite Thenkachi Ko. Swaminathan. He
lists 7 kinds of men. He delivers the list in his own style. And he finishes his
speech with a very very nice joke. I like the one he is saying at the end
of this speech.

Listen to his speech and the joke at the end...
U can laugh for a while...:)

Dindugul I.Leoni Pattimandram-April 14 2011

This pattimandram was telecasted on April 14 on Kalaignar tv.

The topic is

                  Nagaichuvai enbadhu Sirippadharkae..! Sindhippadharkae..!
Is comedy is just for laughing and to enhance our thinking..

Dindugul I.Leoni with his usual team and with a simple topic makes us laugh a lot.

Especially, this pattimandram proved his talents like singing and mimicry. He mimics not only
the voices of V.I.Ps, but the voices of common characters we meet in our life.
The characters are also very different, javvumittaikaarar, inji marappa vikkaraver(persons who sell
some toffees in streets and bus stands). He mimics how they sell the things with rhyming words.

And proves his expertize in chennai tamil. And Mr.Iniyavan, he usually makes fun of cine songs,
he takes a thirukkural and says in Tanglish(Tamil+English). I couldnt stop laughing for certain minutes
on hearing that one.

And as finishing touch, Leoni sings a song "Rock and Roll" from an old tamil film "Padhi bakthi" , sung by
actor Chandrababu. Wow..he sings very excellently.. His comments for the arguments of the speakers
are also rib-tickling.
This pattimandram gives assurance for continuous laughter..

Listen to the pattimandram and experience the laughter..

Solomon Pappaiya Pattimandram- April 14 2011

This pattimandram was telecasted on Suntv on... April 14th, Chithirai thirunaal or Suntv's birthday.Whatever..

Usually, The topics of Solomon Pappaiya pattimandram  are very much or completely family oriented. But this time , the topic is a different one. This is based on science and technology.

The topic was
              "ariviyal Vignaana valarchi avasiyama? aabatha?
In English,

"Is science&technology development an essential thing or a dangerous thing?"

Let us say in short, "Is science a boon or ban?"

The arguments were very nice. Actually, It was like reading a month's newspapers all at once.
They added all the happenings of March and April2011 in their arguments, like disaster in Japan,
 World cup cricket etc.,
Now-a-days, In Solomon Pappaiya's pattimandrams, they give chances to new people to speak.
That's a very good aspect I noticed. In this one, both the new people spoke very well.

And then, our favourites, Raja and Bharathy Bhaskar, "Iniya edhirigal?!!!"fought from the opposite teams.
I wonder, atleast in one pattimandram, can they speak for the same side?
If so, what could be the topic???
But, only their opposite arguments steal the show. So,we cannot expect them to be in the same team. Isn't it?

The judgement,as always, it was a nice one.

Only thing is, how we use the technology. That decides the whole thing. We should try to use everything in a constructive way.
Live and let others live..Let us all prosper..

Listen to the patimandram and enjoy..

Vanga Pesalam-What is April Fool's Day?

Almost all of us may had been fooled by our friends, family members or our classmates on this day. This happens mostly during our childhood. This is one of the very cute happiness of children. You can ask me..Do u say getting ink stains on uniform shirt as happiness? U r right..but that was always a problem to our ammas..who washed our uniforms scolding us.I remember my mom scolding me and all my schoolmates while washing my shirt at kinaththadi after school. But that too counts in the happiest moments of life.

Not only this..Once in tuition class, our teacher gave us some work and went to the nearby shop(petti kadai) to get some things. After that, we were just throwing our books and started playing.
At that time, one of my friends Vaishnavi shouted "madam varanga..madam varanga.." Avlo dhan..We all changed to very sincere, silent students in a fraction of a second. And expected our madam's entry into her home.Poornima started laughing at us and was laughing and laughing, saying " April Fool.."  Simply Imagine..the bulbs on our faces..and the punches she got on her face. That was really  a very sweet moment.
Like this all of us have have our owm moments. These are sweet, coz' this doesn't hurt us.Isn't it?
Making fun without hurting others is always an enjoyable thing.

I had this question in my mind "What is april fool's day? Why is it meant for fooling others?" I searched for
this one day and I got the answer. But it will be very much interesting when our favourite pattimandram speakers Raja and Bharathi Bhaskar share the reason with us. They were sharing this in the program "Vanga Pesalam" on Suntv. I found just one reason, only the Nova's Ark matter. It is surprising to hear the other reasons and other happenings.

You all too enjoy listening to the conversation..

Solomon Pappaiya-Pongal Pattimandram

This pattimandram was telecasted on Suntv few days back. The special thing in this is,2 kids spoke in this. It was very nice to hear this very clear speech. They spoke equally to the experts like Raja and Bharathy baskar.Very happy to hear encouraging them.
Now,coming to my very favourite speakers, Raja and Bharathy baskar, as usual they are in the opposite teams. And they are fighting like cat and mouse. In this pattimandram, I like Bharathy baskar's speech very much. coz' her speech was like a counter attack to all the opposite team members' speeches. Her comments are always spectacular.
The topic of this pattimandran is,

"Indraya kalvichoozhalil adhigam avadhikkullavadhu yaar?
"Petrorgala? Pillaigala?"

In English,

Who is suffering the most due to today's education? Parents? or Kids?

I think this is a very useful topic for the educational situation today.
My opinion is, both parents and kids are suffering. Parents are suffering due to the unusual school fee hype and kids due to the overload of the syllabus. What we study in the book doesnt seem to help us in our real life. We need to change this first. And the fees, now-a-days, education has become the costliest thing we buy for our kids. If this is not stopped, only multi-millionaires can make their children study at schools. I 've heard many people say this. Listen to the Pattimandram and enjoy..

Thenkachi Ko.Swaminathan- about listening

Some of my friends questioned me about my caption (Enjoy the sense of Listening) under my blog's name.
Their doubt was in the word 'Listening'.They said that instead of the word Listening, I should use the word 'hearing'. But my opinion is..Hearing is like just passing by. On other hand, Listening is like analysing the matter. Now, there is a lot of difference. Isn't it?

But, If I say this, most of the people may not accept.Let us listen to what our favourite Thenkachi Ko.Swaminathan(Indru oru Thagaval,All aindia Radio and Sun tv fame) said. He explains the what hearing and listening are and the difference between these. We can understand clearly how much important and valuable listening  is.

He says about the steps in listening.

1. Hearing
2. understanding and
3. feedback.

So,hearing is the first step in listening. But in further,we should analyse the matter we heard.
Then we have to convey this to another person. This step shows us how clearly we observed the message.

And in the end he finishes the session as usual with a short but sweet joke .

Listen to Thenkachi Ko. Swaminathan ayya's speech about listening..
And Enjoy ur sense of Listening always..

Vanga Pesalam -Bharathy Baskar and Raja

"Vanga Pesalam" is a program which is being telecasted on Sun Tv  on weekdays after morning news session. This is a very informative and interesting two member discussion session. Solomon Pappaiya Pattimandram fame Ms.Bharathi bhaskar and Mr.Raja are the two  members participating in the discussion . Both are favourite pattimandram speakers of many people and ofcourse, I am not an exception for this.
They speak about many useful topics everyday. All are useful ones. The discussion is a very decent one and the most important matter is, it is politics free(always). In some topics, they fight fiercely with each other. In some other topics, they agree with each other. In both cases, we can enjoy their talks.

The reason why I like this is, it is not like talking according to a script which someone has written and rendered to them. It is like when two friends talk about a topic. So natural and so impressive..

In this discussion ,they talk about Tamil language and about it being hesitated by the younger generation to speak. Everybody should love their mother tongue. Especially, we Tamilians should feel proud to have such a great language as our mother tongue. But the situation is almost upside down . Isn't it? We all should take responsibility for saving our Tamil by teaching it to our children. Now , listen to the discussion and enjoy..

Thenkachi Ko Swaminathan explaining Thirukural

Thirukkural is the Tamil  book written by the great sage "Thiruvalluvar". He is known as the "Deiva pulavar " and Thirukkural is known as the " ulaga podhumarai" (the common book to the whole world). Thirukkural is the book which is translated in most languages of the world.

Thirukkural consists of 1330 kurals which are divided into 133 adigaarams..
Each adhigaaram(division) contains 10 kurals 133*10  and hence 1330.
Each 10 explains about a topic like charity, love, family life, public life etc..
Each thirukkural contains just 2 lines ...just 7 words..
With just 7 words, he explains very great things.. that's the greatness of Thirukkural..

Always, we've heard only Solomon Popaiya saying meanings for Thirukkural(Sun tv). Even Actor Vivek told a comedy in a film " Vivek :Thirukkuralai ezhudhinadhu yaarnu theriyuma?... Boy : enaku theriyum..Solomon Popaiya "  Have u heard Thenkachi Ko Swaminathan (Indru Oru Thagaval fame)  explaining Thirukural..? Feel the difference here. Here

This one is in the adhigaaram  தெரிந்து செயல் வகை  - deliberation before action
Thenkachi explains the Kural

                   நன்றாற்ற  லுள்ளுந்  தவறுண்   டவரவர்
              பண்பறிந்  தாற்றார்க்  கடை

In English

" Attune the deeds to habitude
Or even good leads to evil feud "

In a common man's words

" Indha kaalathula udhavi seiyum podhu kooda  romba jaakiradhaya seiyanum..
illaina adhu namakae danger aahidumnu solraanga.."

A very apt kural for this period ( personal experiencela pulambaraenu ninaikaadheenga..:)) Thenkachi speaks about thiruvalluvar and the thirukural in his own style.. cracking jokes and examples..

Just listen to it  , learn the meaning of the kural and enjoy...

Onnam padi eduthu- Tamil folk song

This song is sung by Vijayalakshmi Navaneethakrishnan and team . This song starts with the line "Senthil Vadivelavarai". So, those who search for this song with the words "onnam padi eduthu"  miss this one thinking that this is a different one. We could have heard this song few years back in school and college culturals. But it has become rare.

Coming to the song.. This is a kummi song.
On hearing the song we can feel the increase of the speed.  It has 8 padis..like onnam padi eduthu, rendam padi eduthu, moonam padi eduthu... like this it goes upto ezham padi eduthu..
For each and every padi, the speed of the song increases. Listen to the ezham padi eduthu & ettam padi eduthu. U cant imagine ,how the singers sang the words in such a high speed ..that too without a single mistake. Many of us cant say a tongue twister in half the speed of this song ..Wow..this is amazing..
Mostly the stanza is the same. But with some changes.. For example, for onnam padi eduthu she sings" ora orama" and for rendam padi, rathina kiliya.. and like this it goes on..

It contains a finishing touch too. The finishing stanza is a very cute one. That's part i like the most. It is like saying "Ma, our hands are aching because of dancing and clapping hands(that's kummi). we are all so tired. we have to take rest. So give us permission to take leave." to Mariamman the goddess. Isn't so nice?
This is the beauty of the Tamil culture. We dont separate ourselves from the God. God is like our mother, Father and a good friend. In all the tamil folk devotional songs we can feel this very well.

Listen to the song and enjoy the song..
As always cherish our Tamil Tradition..
